THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a Data Engineer to our Data Delivery team in Brazil!

We are responsible for empowering all teams by providing a scalable and reliable data platform to collect, organize and process the deluge of data generated daily at Gympass, following data modeling and governance best practices. Your work will directly impact our goal of enabling all teams to make data-driven decisions and generate business value from data. Our infrastructure is completely in the cloud, running Kubernetes, Presto, Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Flink and more cutting edge projects.

YOUR IMPACT

• Use data and software engineering principles to solve large scale production challenges ;
• You will develop and maintain data models and structures that enable efficient querying and analysis;
• You will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to transform and process large volumes of data from various sources, while adding business context and semantics to the data;
• You will implement automated data quality checks to guarantee data quality and consistency across the whole data life cycle;

WHO YOU ARE

• You are proficient in SQL and Python;
• Knowledge of data modeling techniques (Data Warehousing, Slowly Changing Dimensions, Lakehouse); and scheduling tools and workflow orchestrators (e.g. Airflow)
• You have created robust and scalable data models from business requirements and have worked collaboratively to collect, prepare and analyze complex business data;
• Experienced with data integration techniques (Reprocessing, Historical backfill, Partitioning)
• Able to engage engineering and product teams to elicit requirements and present solutions to top management
• Able to collaborate with different teams to understand data needs and develop effective data pipelines
• Comfortable understanding big data concepts to ingest, process and make data available for data scientists, business analysts and product teams
• Comfortable maintaining data consistency across the entire data ecosystem
• You are motivated to contribute to a data-driven culture and see the impact of your work reflected company wide
