The Senior Data Science role will be responsible for developing analytics and predictive models to support the capabilities in our platform on which the organizations build their service delivery models and raise funds. Understanding our CBO clients’ delivery models/fundraising and supporting processes in order to determine how our software can empower those processes will be critical to our success. You will play a leading role in executing on the long-term analytic vision for the company, with a strong focus on optimizing the user experience and outcomes for our enterprise-level software.
What You’ll Do
Own a backlog of predictive model requests and analytic needs, taking responsibility for proof-of-concept model building, managing EDW requests, validation of model efficiency, and delivering predictive models and analytics.
Working with data engineers, product engineers, product managers, and other data scientists on a routine basis.
Mentoring junior data scientists.
Advising data engineers and data architects on technology stack options.
Quantify and track the success for analytic features.
Thinking through metrics that we want to optimize to then be able to build a data set with the right independent variables (features) and then choosing the right methodology for predicting the dependent variable.
Work hand-in-hand with your Data Engineer, Data Architect, and Product Manager teammates to ensure we are delivering an efficient and validated solution to our product teams.
Incorporate feedback from other departments, ensuring you understand the impact of our decisions on the company as a whole.
Measure and present the impact of your work directly to the leadership team, quantifying the value of your progress.
Requirements:
4-6 years in data science, analytic, or an equivalent educational or career background (experience in an Agile environment preferred)
4-6 years of working with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way
Excellent attention to detail
Familiarity with data management tools
Thorough understanding of how modern technology systems are designed and built
Strong presentation skills used for presenting internally to leadership team members
Excellent time management skills and able to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Enjoy adapting to feedback from both users and internal stakeholders, building stronger analytics as a result
Experience with SQL and (python or R or SPSS/SAS)
Nice to Have
Experience using data to inform design and product decisions
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple functional areas of business – engineering, design, finance, sales, and marketing
Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative
Experience with product management tools (ie. JIRA and Aha!) is beneficial
Compensation
The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and in addition to benefits this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity.
US base salary range: $113,400 - $150,000
