1Password is seeking a Senior Data Steward to support the Data and Analytics Engineering team in documenting & organizing our data sources and data assets. As a Sr Data Steward, you will ensure data integrity and accuracy, thus enabling teams to deliver on business goals using data they can trust. You will partner cross functionally and provide guidance on metric definition, data quality and proper usage of data. You will evangelize our data discovery & metadata platform so that our collaborators can self serve their data needs.
This is a Remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What we're looking for:
- 2+ years of SQL data modeling
- 3+ years of related experience in data reliability / data management
- 1+ years of relevant experience using a data profiling framework such as Great Expectations or similar.
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, determine root cause and partner with various engineering teams and stakeholders to come up with solutions
- Strong writing skills in producing technical documentation for data processing.
What you can expect:
- Perform data quality audits, identify data ingestion issues, suggest improvements & help coordinate fixes
- Own the implementation and adoption of metadata management software (We use DataHub)
- Lead investigative efforts when data quality challenges arise, and partner with appropriate engineering teams to resolve irregularities and ensure trust in our data. This can involve identifying issues with data processing logic, bringing clarity to metric definitions or working with maintainers of various source systems to address data validation issues.
- Own design and implementation of data quality & data profiling best practices. Partner with engineering teams as well as stakeholders to understand what should be expected of various data assets and ensure that appropriate validation tests are expressed.
- Partner with our Privacy & Security teams to ensure strict adherence to our internal data usage standards
- Document changes to data processing logic and communicate changes to the organization
United States-based roles only: The Annual salary for this role is between $140,000USD and $190,000USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs. All employees are owners of 1Password and receive an equity grant as part of their total package.
