The Team

The Growth Analytics team is part of the centralized analytics function with expertise in the growth and marketing section of the business.  To support the growth team, the analytics team drives potential borrowers to the website through the use of paid advertisements, partnerships, emails, SEO, and direct mail.  Additionally, the team will work with the product and engineering team to make changes to the website or loan approval process to help make it easier for prospective borrowers to apply and ultimately fund a loan.  The Growth Analytics team works to support the needs of stakeholders, as well as build the foundational data and analytics infrastructure to enable the team to be more data-driven.

 

Position Location - This role is available in the following locations: Remote

Time Zone Requirements - This team operates on the East/West Coast time zones. [Only use this section if there are specific time zone requirements that this role must work in; if the role is remote-US or can work in any timezone in the US, please remove this section.]

Travel Requirements - This team has regular on-site collaboration sessions. These occur X days per Month/Quarter at the Y office. If you need to travel to make these meetups, Upstart will cover all travel related expenses.

 

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Driving key decisions on how to spend marketing budget
  • Improving borrower experience by advising product team on areas of improvement for site
  • Analyzing A/B experiments and making recommendations on whether to release a new feature
  • Building new analytical tools to enable stakeholders to self-serve on their analytical needs
  • Uncovering potential value creation projects through exploratory data analysis and opportunity sizing

 

What we’re looking for: 

Minimum qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and quantitative background with at least 3-5 years professional experience
  • Analytical, rigorous, and creative approach to solving difficult problems
  • Strong communication and client-facing data presentation skills
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (SQL, Python, Excel, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
  • Proven ability to learn quickly, work independently, and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience on a growth or marketing analytics function
  • In depth knowledge of Looker or dbt
  • Prior experience being a “customer” of technical teams like machine learning, software engineering, or data engineering
  • Prior work experience working for a a financial industry company
