The Job:

The Sr. Analyst is responsible for identifying and leading pricing improvement activities including hands-on data analysis, price strategy, margin improvement, price effectiveness and capability needs of the organization. The successful candidate is a global-minded, experienced pricing professional with strong commercial skills, business acumen, analytical aptitude, and demonstrated success driving price and margin improvement. Working with various Stakeholders, the candidate will have a high level of comfort with all levels of the organization to communicate new concepts and strategies.

As a Senior Price & Data Analyst, you’ll be part of our Industrial team working as a virtual employee.    You’ll get to: 

  • Identify, develop and implement profitability improvement projects, dashboards, or decision-making tools to drive targeted value
  • Assist in the design of the pricing systems and architecture to optimize processes that support price execution leveraging Best Practices
  • Provide support and assist in the implementation of Advanced Analytics projects (Price Entitlement, 80-20 Analysis, FX & Commodity, Price Leakage)
  • Support documentation, development, implementation, and training of solutions designed to deliver process productivity and / or analytical capabilities to SBD business units
  • Review existing SBD policies, standard operating procedures, and guidebooks and drafting and maintaining updated versions based on lessons learned, changes to policy, and industry standards and guidance
  • Work cross-functionally with Product Management, Field Sales, Engineering and Operations to understand pricing inputs to ensure prices are accurate, competitive and aligned with strategic initiatives

The Person:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or related field or equivalent experience; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Industrial environment (or similar) supporting marketing, operations, and/or executive leadership with strategic and commercial decisions
  • Highly proficient in Excel & PowerPoint.  Knowledge of Power BI, Hyperion, SAP, JDE, Alteryx & Qlikview / Tableau preferred
  • Sharp analytical skills with ability to manipulate, aggregate, filter, and summarize large data sets into actionable insights
  • Experience in data modelling to build price frameworks, elasticity models, AB Analysis, correlation analysis and statistical methods
  • Understanding of pricing management concepts with proven ability to carefully and logically assess risks, benefits and alternatives
  • Ability to work cross functionally and across business boundaries to solve issues and drive projects to completion
  • Ability to prioritize work, juggle multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong self-organization and self-management skills, with emphasis on self-initiation, continual self-improvement, and follow through
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, articulate, speaks, and writes English well
