Role Description:
The Staff Data Architect is responsible for designing and developing data architecture and solutions to support high volume and complex data ingestion, management and transformation to drive analytics and reporting capabilities in the healthcare payer, clinical, patient experience, growth, quality and finance domains. This position will collaborate with a team of data engineers, application specialists, product owners and business users to shape requirements and develop scalable operational and analytical reporting solutions. This role will report to the Chief Data and Analytics officer.
Core Responsibilities:
Requirements Analysis and Solution Architecture Design.
Data modeling and data architecture design.
ETL, data integration and data migration design.
Master data management system and process design and implementation.
Data quality system and process design.
Analysis of requirements and production of specifications.
Documentation of solutions (e.g. data models, configurations, and setup).
Working within a project management/agile delivery methodology in a leading role as part of a wider team.
Deal with other stakeholders/ end users in the software development lifecycle – PMs, BAs, testing etc
Integrate new systems and functions to ensure security, performance, scalability, reliability and data recovery
Collaborates with technical and functional stakeholders on new developments to ensure consistency, performance and timeliness of data delivery
Lends expert support to front-end developers responsible for developing data reporting and analytics assets
Self manages projects, tasks and timelines ensuring that approvals from leadership are obtained
Proactively engage with other data engineers, application owners and product owners in the identification of data integrity and usability issues and is able to recommend and deliver corrective solutions
Other duties as assigned
What are we looking for?
Data architect skills required include the following areas:
Direct experience of solution shaping and architecture development with healthcare data.
Hands on experience architecting and delivering solutions using the Azure Data Analytics platform including Azure Databricks, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake, Azure Search
Experience working with structured and unstructured data in the healthcare domain - including but not limited to claims , membership, eligibility, clinical, quality, encounter and experience data
Knowledge of and experience working with healthcare data formats like CCDA, FHIR etc
Experience designing and implementing machine learning solutions as part of high volume data ingestion and transformation pipelines
Recent experience with Open Source technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, NoSQL, Kafka, Solr/Elastic Search
Experience with best practice design principles and approaches for a range of application styles and technologies to help guide and steer decisions.
