The Mozilla Foundation is a California non-profit public benefit organization. Our mission is to ensure that the Internet is a global public resource, open and accessible to all. Join us and become part of our mission to promote openness, innovation, and opportunity online.

20 years ago, this meant building a browser and protecting the open web. Today, it also includes making sure AI and data driven technology is more trustworthy. In order to focus on places where Mozilla can impact the next era of our work, we are increasingly working on the topic of trustworthy AI. For us, this means especially two things: human agency is a core part of how AI is built and integrated, and corporate accountability is real and enforced.

Mozilla Insights is a growing team that produces analytical and accessible publications with a global approach. In addition to Mozilla’s annual Internet Health Report, which compiles research and stories from around the world, we publish deep dives into key areas of importance for trustworthy AI and internet health. We also conduct analyses to inform organizational strategy and decisions. Our latest (and upcoming) work focuses on alternative data governance, AI transparency and bias, and innovation in emerging markets.

As Senior Researcher you will lead or contribute to impactful research projects of the Insights team drawing on a variety of different research methods. You will liaise with staff and fellows across Mozilla and you will contribute to developing the Insights team methodology.
