Kinsa is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager for the Data Teams to help build out the data driven culture and establish cross functional best practices across a variety of teams. This is an exciting and highly visible role, working directly with our data analysts, scientists, and engineers as well as with a broad range of stakeholders to manage technical projects. The right candidate will have deep technical skills to be able to support the ongoing data infrastructure needs of the company.
 
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders. You understand and thrive working in a scrappy startup environment and know how to effectively communicate project requirements and deliver results. Kinsa was founded with a mission to stop illness from spreading by knowing where and when it starts. Our mission has never been more important or more relevant than it is right now. We are leading the charge in the fight against COVID-19. Our real-time map of illness has been featured in the New York Times, on Rachel Maddow, CNBC, FOX News, The Economist, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah etc.  Turn on the TV, open the paper… We are making headlines bringing our Data to the fight. We’ve done this by successfully transforming the first device you grab when sickness strikes - the thermometer - into a sensor to detect when and where illness is rising, and communicate with those who have just fallen ill.

With the support of the Data Science, Analyst, Engineers, and Product Managers these are a few examples of projects you will likely tackle in this role:

    • Maintain backlog of tickets for data teams and run stand up and retro meetings Streamline processes for data requests. Create a process for incoming ad-hoc and other data requests.
    • Own and drive critical initiatives that rely on cross team collaboration and implementation
    • Oversee database table structure design for analysis-ready tables by creating work plans for cross functional teams.
    • Be the subject matter expert in taking large projects and distilling them to smaller digestible projects
    • Be the reliability great for the data products we deliver. How do we know we are delivering what our customers expect? What is the process for reporting bugs? What systems can we scale across data to ensure we are delivering? How are we communicating to customers any updates we make?
    • Coordinate between supply chain and data teams to build data pipelines between our supply chain vendors and internal databases.
    • Plan, strategize, and work across teams to deploy the ingestion ETL and attribution of metadata from overseas manufacturing as we head into international expansion.
    • Maintain hardware order structure, process and automation from Salesforce and EDI for retailers to make sure we are delivering timely orders from different business verticals.

About you/Core Skills:

    • Exceptional communicator with oral and written skills. Leverage your technical background and interest in data to help develop a deep understanding of our data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Thrive in an environment with regularly shifting priorities and take a level-headed approach to incorporate new work into an existing plan
    • Bring a curious and creative mindset to understanding Kinsa’s product offerings and be a self-starter and thought leader in the technical aspects of our core business model.
    • Analytical thinker who can break down complex problems using data and technology to help plan the best way to deliver these products
    • Track record of solving ambiguous problems and thinking under pressure, both individually and in a multifunctional team environment
    • Looking for an opportunity to come into a cutting edge public health company and helping us shape our process around technology - there is room to grow and build out project management at Kinsa
    • Experience adapting to a fast-paced, fast-changing environment, juggling multiple priorities and stakeholders
    • Must have 4+ years of Technical Program Management experience or a combination of analytics, project management, and data management experience

You might also have:

    • Experience in an organization where health outcomes were were critical to the mission
    • Advanced understanding of JIRA, BI Tools, SQL, Python, Airflow, AWS, Google Analytics
    • Experience in Demand Forecasting, shipping and logistics, retail and consumer packaged goods
