The Role

As a Sr Business Operations Analyst at Upstart, you will be working under the direction of the Head of Business Intelligence. Business Operations is responsible for using data to efficiently monitor performance and identify areas for improvement in the Upstart Operations team. Our mission is to leverage analytics to make data-driven decisions across Operations and Upstart. 

A successful person is data-driven, technical, and curious. This person will be tasked with building, maintaining, monitoring, and analyzing Operations data on behalf of multiple lines of business. They are able to communicate effectively and establish key relationships within the department and broader company, and can suggest improvements to maximize performance.

Position location This role is available in the following locations: Remote, San Mateo,CA; Columbus, OH

Time zone requirements The team operates on the East/West coast time zones.

Travel requirements This team has regular onsite collaboration sessions. These occur 3-5 days per quarter. If you need to travel to make these meetups, Upstart will cover all travel related expenses.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Analyze and report out on performance (customer service, portfolio performance, etc) trends on a regular cadence to the Operations team and leadership.
• Create and maintain dashboards and visualizations using business intelligence tools for various audiences.
• Work cross-functionally with other departments to extract, validate, and/or analyze operational data.
• Perform ad-hoc reports/analysis via SQL query creation to generate list reports from data sources.
• Design, organize, implement, and analyze experiments to improve Operations effectiveness and/or efficiency.

What we’re looking for 

Minimum Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in business operations or business analytics.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools, such as Looker, Python, R, or SQL.
• Can think critically and solve problems from first principle.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Associates/Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Work Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters in Data Analytics, Statistics, or similar.
• Practitioner of Agile methodology.
• Strong Looker dashboard building skills.
• Excellent project management skills and proven organizational skills.

The minimum base pay for this position in Colorado is $30.00/hr + bonus + equity + benefits. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay Act. It is specific to Colorado and may not be applicable to other locations.
