We are seeking a Staff Data Engineer who has strong design, developments skills and upkeeps scalability, availability and excellence when building data pipelines and platforms for our royalties and revenue share team, as well as other company areas in need for data pipeline integrations. If you have proficiency in various data processing technologies and data stores, appreciate the value of clear communication and collaboration, and devote to continual capacity planning and performance fine-tuning for emerging business growth, this position is for you. As the Staff Data Engineer, you will be leading the design, build-out and implementation of data pipelines and application platform services that power various business processes at Fanatics.

What you'll be doing

    • Build reusable data pipelines and platforms that can ingest and parse raw data from different authoritative data sources and deliver standardized data to the downstream consumers at Fanatics
    • Develop clean, safe, testable, and cost-efficient solutions, with an eye towards the Fanatics strategic future; Build efficient and reliable pipelines, platforms with underlying raw, cleansed, conformed and consumption data models that can quickly scale and respond to business needs as well as future growth
    • Work with product manager to translate business requirements into scalable solutions, prioritize workload and deliver quality, flexible and functional products on a timely manner that can continue to be enhanced without significant material investment
    • Make well-informed decisions with deep knowledge of both the internal and external impacts to teams and projects 
    • Understand the system you are building, anticipate shortcomings and be able to resolve or compromise as deemed appropriate

What we're looking for

    • Excellent understanding of data structures with 7+ years of experience in enterprise-wide data platforms design and implementation
    • Knowledge of common design patterns used in Data Integrations and Warehousing
    • Proficient knowledge and experience in designing and developing data modeling & mining, with 3NF conformed as well as consumption data model types
    • Experience in partnering with architects, engineers in data environments that are complex, enterprise wide, multi-tenant, and host large volumes of business data
    • Strong hands-on SQL experience across various technology stacks, such as SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, using the following languages/tools: T-SQL, PL/SQL, Visual ETL and shell scripting
    • Ability to design and build systems that balance scalability, availability and latency while solving different problems 
    • An excellent communicator and team player who has a proven track record of building strong relationships with management, co-workers and customers. 
    • A desire to learn and grow, push yourself and your team, share lessons with others and provide constructive and continuous feedbacks, and receptive to feedback from others
    • Experience in leading technical teams, including offshore, by providing clear expectations, guidelines and direction
$173,000 - $247,000 a year
The salary range for this position is $173,000 to $247,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
