Priorities USA is a progressive advocacy organization focused on promoting the Biden-Harris agenda, ensuring Democratic victories in 2022, and supporting and improving the progressive movements’ use of digital advertising. We believe in an economy that provides real opportunity for all families to get ahead, and to protect the fundamental, democratic ideal of equality for all Americans – regardless of race, religion, gender or sexual orientation. With Donald Trump defeated, we’re looking for a team who wants to answer “what’s next?” and to help shape the next chapter of progressive campaigning.

As Measurement Associate at Priorities you will become the organization’s experiment in our testing and measurement program. You will work on a team that tests ads, runs randomized-controlled trials, and conducts observational research that all answers a single, critical question:  how do we make our programs more effective?

Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate and execute creative panels on behalf of Priorities’ media programs.
    • Analyze results from panels and randomized-controlled trials.
    • Assist in designing and implementing field experiments and other measurement approaches to help Priorities understand which messages and tactics are effective.
    • Evaluate field experiments, from cleaning data to conducting statistical analyses measuring treatment effects, levels of uncertainty, and heterogeneity in results.
    • Contribute to written reports and develop visuals for presentations of experiment results to share with Priorities USA and progressive organizations we partner with.
    • Review related political science research to put Priorities’ results in context.
    • Work closely with Analytics colleagues to develop data and technical infrastructure to ensure findings are used effectively to inform future strategic and tactical decisions.
    • Report to the Director of Analytics.

Qualifications

    • 1+ years work experience in data/analytics.
    • Familiar with SQL.
    • Fluency in R or Python, preference for experience with data cleaning and visualization.
    • Academic or professional training in statistical methods, especially regression analysis, and experimental design and analysis.
    • Experience using data and numbers to formulate insights, and communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Self-starter who is curious enough to answer big questions and realistic enough to deliver answers that are applicable and actionable.
    • Creative thinker and problem solver with a passion for Democratic causes and candidates.
    • Experience communicating with diverse groups, working with a multicultural workforce, and bringing a sensitivity and appreciation of cultural differences.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Familiarity with marketing and advertising, especially in a cross-functional environment, like an agency or campaign.
    • Experience analyzing survey data.
    • Experience working with voter files.
    • Experience making maps, visualizing data, and presenting technical information to a diverse set of stakeholders.
    • An understanding of paid media or an interest to learn the practice.
