Our API-first solution allows any merchant to offer extended warranties and protection plans, both online and offline, while also providing a merchant's end customers with a vastly improved and modern support experience that eliminates many of the issues customers face today with legacy underwriters.
We are a venture backed startup based in downtown San Francisco that is led by founders who have previously had multiple successful exits. Extend is simplifying the technology stack for the extended warranty industry, in the same way that Stripe did for online payments and Affirm did for consumer point of sale financing.
What You'll Do:
- Strategically design data models to fit our current and future needs
- Understand our business and design different informative views of it
- Write clear and readable dbt SQL to model data
- Migrate Python/Pandas/SQL to dbt SQL
- Identify and write comprehensive model tests
- Bridge the gap between data analysts and data engineers
- Understand how our data is generated to ensure integrity
- Provide guidance to data analysts on how to use our data
What We Are Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience as a data analyst, data engineer, analytics engineer, or adjacent
- Appreciation for how data is generated, analyzed, and drives decisions
- Star and Snowflake schema design
- Skilled in breaking down complex SQL queries into manageable models
- Passionate about data quality testing - really, you must love this stuff
- Ability to dig deep into data problems and query your way to an understanding
- Love of teaching and mentoring and strong communications skills
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with DBT (data build tool)
- Experience with Snowflake or Redshift
- Cloud experience, specifically AWS
- Workflow orchestration tools, Airflow/Glue Workflows, etc
