The Role:

As a talented Applied Behavioral Science Junior Machine Learning Engineer, you love the challenge of taking business problems and human behavior, using the latest techniques and behavioral science research to bring models to life that bring business value. You have experience as a Junior Machine Learning Engineer and are fulfilled by exploring data and asking how we use it to further influence digital interactions with customers, agents, and employees. You can learn and adapt quickly and are able to use every tool at your disposal—software, algorithms, statistical models, and beyond—to understand and effectively tackle hard problems that have human behavior at its core. You think about modeling in the context of implementation and runtime considerations. You appreciate the difference between explaining and fitting statistical models, the importance of good metrics, and the tradeoff between exploration and exploitation.

You’re also an individual who…

  • Lives in data and is curious about what stories data can tell about how users are interacting with digital experiences
  • Actively looks for opportunities to influence human behavior across interactions via modeling and analytics
  • Desires to contribute concretely to design sessions, analytical discussions, and retrospectives
  • Can ask for guidance from more senior co-workers proactively 
  • Designs and prototypes machine learning systems

Job Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Behavioral Science with major component of course work focused on Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Analytics or Data Science
  • 1 years+ of machine learning or artificial intelligence software engineering experience focused on a  behavioral science component
  • Experience working with linguistics, NLP or other language science
  • Both front and backend technical experience with cognitive business applications
  • Comfort traversing databases and data in general
  • Ability to independently analyze data
  • Ability to clean and pre-process large and complex datasets
  • Experience with various data types (e.g. Relational, Unstructured, Hierarchical, Linked “Graph” Data)
  • Experience in developing, managing, and manipulating complex datasets
  • Instinctive knowledge of how people will want to use a product, service, or solution that solves a real-world business problem

Compensation offered for this role is $93,000.00-$126,000.00 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
