Job Summary:

The Business Intelligence Data Analytics Consultant II is responsible for leveraging data and analytics to answer moderately complex questions and influence business strategy through communication of findings to management.  The position is also responsible for developing standards of practice around data structing, retrieval, data manipulation, data reporting and data analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Makes the business insights derived from data analytics accessible to those without technical skills
  • Provides technical expertise; willing to learn data tables, data structures, and tools/platforms
  • Compiles, cleans, organizes and analyzes moderately complex data to understand business results
  • Gathers requirements and consults with stakeholders to determine analytical support. 
  • Communicates analytical findings through data visualizations and business insights – to stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Monitors and evaluates business initiatives against key performance indicators and communicates results and recommendations to management
  • Establishes, modifies, documents, and communicates standards of practice around data retrieval, data manipulation, data quality, data reporting and data analytics
  • Influences strategy through data and analytics
  • Utilizes data and analytics expertise to coach and develop less experienced analysts
     

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job does not have supervisory duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Statistics, Finance, Business, Economics, IT or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of data and analytics experience
  • 1 years of insurance experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • None

Functional Skills

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in different programming languages such as SQL, R, Python
  • Experience in data visualization skills such as Tableau and Power BI
  • General insurance knowledge
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working with Agile environment
     

Compensation Data

Compensation range for this position is $56,600 to $92,000. The salary offered will be commensurate with experience.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
