Job Summary

The Senior Manager – Data Stratey, Reporting and Insights is responsible for influencing business strategy through data and analytics. The position is also responsible for anticipating changes, leading innovative data and analytics solutions to drive business results, as well as coaching and developing a team of managers and/or professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilizes data analytics expertise to coach and develop a team of managers and/or professionals
  • Influences organizational strategy through data and analytics expertise
  • Anticipates challenges with data and analytics and develops proactive solutions
  • Recommends and manages change to data and analytical methods
  • Provides direction and guidance to team and updates to senior leadership on projects of critical importance
  • Introduces and leads strategic change.
  • Develops and manages the implementation of innovative data and analytics solutions to support business unit objectives
  • Monitors and evaluates business initiatives against key performance indicators and communicates results and recommendations to management
  • Provides data and analytics expertise to advise, support and collaborate across business units
  • Design and implement the data strategy for People Analytics and human capital data at Allstate that will enable talent strategies to drive business objectives.
  • Drive the vision for Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing for human capital data, and define and execute on a plan to achieve that vision
  • Knowledge of data integrations, data lakes and data warehouses

Preferred Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Statistics, Finance, Business, Economics, IT or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of data and analytics experience
  • 5 years of insurance experience

Functional Skills

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in different programming languages such as SQL and R
  • General insurance knowledge
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working with Big Data
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Advanced ability in designing a people data strategy, including expert understanding of people data and how to deliver data and insights that enable talent solutions and drive business results.
  • Advanced project management skills, including personal time management skills that allow the individual to manage multiple projects, prioritize and organize work.
