Job Summary:
This role is responsible for leading the overall delivery of Big Data solutions enabling advanced data science and analytics. This includes leading the development and recommendation of new Big Data systems for analyzing data; the coding and development of advanced analytics solutions to make/optimize business decisions and processes; searching for and integrating new tools to improve descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics; and discovery of new technical challenges that can be solved with existing and emerging big data hardware and software solutions. This role is a key owner of the structured and unstructured Big Data / Data Science strategy of Allstate from traditional to emerging analytics technologies and methods. This role is also accountable for building alignment with key stakeholders on the Big Data strategy of D3. The role is responsible for the recruitment, selection, mentorship and development of other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Establish operational/technical objectives for data analytic outputs and business solutions
• Grow and develop Big Data team based on strategy and direction
• Drive technical excellence from the team
• Establish budgets, operational plans and performance requirements for Big Data team
• Develop and influence research agenda for Allstate
• Create and influence industry best practices
• Influence a wide range of stakeholders
• Works directly with data scientists and end users turning ideation into actionable research and prototyping agenda
• Manages Big Data requests to improve the accuracy, quality, completeness, speed of data, and decisions made from Big Data analysis
• Develops and influences prototyping and research agendas for Allstate
This position is a permanent remote home-based worker. Your home office does not need to be near an Allstate office, but it does need to be in the United States. This position is eligible for a monthly connectivity reimbursement to offset the costs of internet and phone expenses.
Education and Experience:
• Master's Degree or equivalent experience
• 7-10 years of related experience
Functional Skills:
• Demonstrated experience in using software development to drive data science and analytic efforts
• Demonstrated experience with database and ETL technologies
• Demonstrated experience and expertise with various data types (e.g. Relational, Unstructured, Hierarchical, Linked Graph Data)
• Demonstrated understanding of statistical modeling and/or machine learning techniques principals
• Demonstrated experience in developing, managing, and manipulating large, complex datasets
Compensation Data
Compensation range for this position is $170,000 - $245,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. This role also includes a targeted yearly bonus
