Know Your Customer OU (KYC OU)

At Moody’s Analytics Know Your Customer (KYC) / Know Your Supplier (KYS), we solve problems that matter. We are a cross-functional team of sales and marketing, technology and product professionals who are all passionate about preventing criminal infiltration of the world’s financial system and bringing transparency to global supply chains by detecting fraud, terrorism, human trafficking, and other criminal threats. Role/Responsibilities

As a data analyst, you will be a core member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and executing on a vision for how to grow the KYC/KYS business monumentally through new product innovation. We practice an agile, highly customer focused, and learning-based approach to product development that aims to bring new products to market in 9-12 months.

You will be responsible for conducting full lifecycle data analyses that drive the development of new analytic solutions. These solutions will draw on Moody’s Analytics unique and rich data sources to generate insights for innovative products that create a new standard in the KYC/KYS space. You bring technical expertise to ensure data quality and accuracy, then process, design, and present it in ways to help people, businesses, and organizations make data-driven decisions.

Specifically, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Interpret data, analyzing results using statistical techniques to provide regular reports

  • Develop and implement data analyses, data collection systems, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality

  • Acquire data from multiple data sources and maintain databases

  • Manage and design the reporting environment, with a focus on data sources, security, and metadata

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct code or data problems

  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience working in a fast-paced software development environment

  • BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics viewed favorably

  • Technical expertise in data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting platforms (Business Objects, Cognos, Power Bi, Tableau, etc.), databases (SQL etc.), and optionally programming (R, Python, etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational or non-relational databases

  • Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to successfully execute on multiple, simultaneous projects

  • Experience working on a collaborative product team passionate about Agile software processes, data-driven development, and experimentation

  • Excellent communication, listening, and influencing skills

  • Ability to work efficiently with a solid sense for setting priorities

  • Ability to guide own learning and contribute to domain knowledge building
