In the Banking group, we help lending institutions make important decisions about their business, particularly when they are providing loans, managing risk, or conducting financial planning for the future of their institution. We do this with our innovative software and reliable analytics, helping them understand how to do their job better through training, learning solutions and advisory services. We are a dedicated team of experts in technology and financial analytics who understand what our clients need.

Role/Responsibilities

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Banking OU Data Science team and help us shape the future of the financial industry. In this role, you will use your skills in traditional statistical modeling, business intelligence, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to work on cutting-edge projects that will have a significant impact on our business. You will be responsible for developing and implementing data-driven solutions to complex business problems, and you will play a vital role in the evolution of our Lending, Risk & Finance Solutions, and the development of our Banking Platform.
Key Projects include:

REMOTE BUT MUST RESIDE IN THE UNITED STATES

  • Smart Work Queue (SWQ) model combining different type of risk signals for CreditLens Monitor.
  • Develop feedback loops to continuously develop and train SWQ models based on user feedback.
  • Research on emerging AI, machine learning, deep learning solutions applied to structured and unstructured data and be conversant with the latest developments in these fields.
  • Assist with rollout out of Standard Insights dashboards for Banking products.
  • Perform data analysis and prototype data pipeline for Data Science needs and deployment of Sisense dashboards.
  • Extracting Insights from Credit Data: Utilize advanced data analytics and AI techniques to uncover valuable insights from credit data, driving better decision-making for our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets.
  • Prototype BI dashboards and visualize the data.
  • Develop and implement data-driven solutions to complex business problems.
  • Build and deploy machine learning models.
  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate results.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in data science and machine learning.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and contribute to the knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, economics, finance or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in data analytics and data mining with strong understanding of data warehousing, data modelling and schema design.
  • Strong SQL skills to query data and understand the relationships among the datasets is required.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or another statistical programming language.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Qlik, Tableau or Sisense
  • Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Familiarity with NLP, and AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub).
  • Experience working in Banking or Finance is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $108,500 to $157,250, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
