BI Engineer

We are looking for a passionate BI Engineer who thinks critically about how data can be transformed to best support and inform organizational needs and culture. They appreciate thinking about the “why” in addition to the “how,” and is someone who values diverse, inclusive teams and creates an environment where people of all identities, experiences, and backgrounds can thrive.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver actionable dashboards and reports
• Own the design, development, and maintenance of dashboards and reports to support key business decisions
• Use SQL to write complex queries that join data across multiple systems
• Use LookML to build explores and develop dashboards
• Build tables in SQL using dbt
• Troubleshoot reporting issues 
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
• Review a teammate’s code for accuracy, DRYness, and style
• Use distributed source control such as Git proficiently

Requirements

• 3 - 5 years of experience working as a Business Intelligence Engineer or in a similar role
• 3+ years of working experience with relational databases and data warehousing
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
• BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or recent, relevant experience

Nice-to-Have

• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (R, Python)
• Strong Looker/LookML development skills, with an emphasis on modeling and overall project/model design
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
