Machine Learning Engineer

We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to assess, analyze and organize large amounts of data, while also executing tests and optimizing machine learning models and algorithms.  You will work with upper management to define software requirements and take the lead on operational and technical projects.

You will help design and create machine learning models and retrain systems for systems use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency for our customers.

You should be able to work independently with little supervision. You should have excellent organization and problem-solving skills and have worked in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Designing ML systems using high-quality software design and architecture
  • Research and implement ML algorithms and tools
  • Select appropriate data sets; pick appropriate data representation methods
  • Identify differences in data distribution that affects model performance
  • Verify data quality; perform validation and verification testing
  • Perform statistical analysis
  • Run machine learning tests, use results to improve models
  • Train and retrain systems when needed
  • Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
  • Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
  • Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
  • Review and debug code
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products
  • Ensure software is up-to-date with latest technologies

Requirements

  • Significant experience in software development, data science; advanced math and statistics skills
  • Significant experience working with ML frameworks and ML libraries and packages
  • Deep understand of data structures, data modeling and software architecture
  • In-depth knowledge of databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Snowflake)
  • Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
  • Ability to work independently
  • Growth-mindset in approaching new technologies and patterns

Nice-to-Have

  • Some Experience with GCP or a similar cloud platform
  • Experience working in Agile teams
  • Advanced degree in computer science, math, statistics or a related degree
