Sapphire-Digital is seeking a data-driven individual for the role of Business Data Intelligence Specialist that will use data to analyze our SmartShopper program customer performance, member/account behaviors and trends to maximize shopping, conversion and savings to identify areas to drive greater utilization and performance of the market offering down to the individual account level.

This role will be responsible for working cross-functionally with the Client Engagement Managers (CEMs) as well as the product, engagement and data teams to provide the CEMs and clients with business analysis expertise in a tactical capacity, evaluating internal and external client performance data and implementing effective solutions to drive greater engagement and savings.

The selected candidate will gather, analyze, document and develop functional reporting for use by internal and external clients.

Essential Duties & Functions:

  • Ability to consolidate, interpret and present data in reports/dashboards for Executive, team leads and individual end users focused on acquisition and financial information.

  • Gather, analyze, and document functional/reporting, client and engagement recommendations and deliver reports and dashboards to the CEMs and clients.

  • Consult with team members and customer stakeholders to identify, define, and document business needs and objectives, and challenges related to the business functions such as impacting member engagement on shopping and conversion.

  • Proficiency in reporting/analytic products

  • Work with CEMs and clients on documenting effective engagement plans at the account level to maximize product performance.

  • Assist in the evaluation and refinement of current best practices and operational playbooks to enhance overall Smartshopper performance.

  • Record and track client progress to documented goals.

  • Create reports for internal teams and/or external clients.

  • Use graphs, infographics and other methods to visualize data.

  • Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of client engagement activities.

  • Build and/or refresh tools which establish KPI targets by leveraging analytics and insights to estimate potential growth

  • Provide input into program and client risks and opportunities

  • Provide insights and opportunities to the Client Engagement and Engagement teams to drive focus and actions around risks and opportunities.

  • Create presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings.

  • Initiate custom “deep dives,” either independently or as directed by leadership, into segmented member behavior data sets to provide insight and inform future marketing decisions.

Qualifications & Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.

  • 5+ years prior business/data analyst experience.

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment for a matrixed organization.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to listen and relate with the customer.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external customers.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong team player that is willing to help other team members at all times.

  • Understanding of consumer behavior and/or Health Plan marketing experience is a plus.

  • Ability to work in high-pressure situations

  • Ability to effectively present and communicate findings and recommendations

Required Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of productivity tools such as Microsoft Power BI and Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings

  • Business acumen – understanding financial impact to the business and how it translates to ROI

  • Working experience exhibiting strong critical thinking and analytical skills
