SUMMARY:

The data engineer is responsible for building and analyzing data processes that replace or enhance the performance, functionality, and quality of existing systems.

Essential Duties & Functions:

  • Data management (create, read, update, delete)
  • Create SQL queries, functions, views, and stored procedures
  • Design and automate ETL processes to move data between multiple source and destination systems
  • Support and enhance existing ETL processes
  • Perform research and provide recommendations for data definition, requirements and data structures
  • Review and analyze data elements for accuracy and quality assurance
  • Identify, validate, and complete impact analysis for data defects/issues
  • Maintains documentation on data projects and processes
  • Communicate effectively across multiple teams
  • Research and resolve call center tickets related to incentive data inquiries
  • Review and validate provider data for our incentive matching program

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A. / B. S.) from four-year college or university; 4+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4+ years of experience as a data engineer or in related field
  • Experience writing SQL (SQL Server and/or Postgre preferred)
  • Experience with ETL tools and process automation (SSIS preferred)
  • Experience with MS Office including Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks
  • Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms
  • Demonstrated experience in working with large data sets and relational databases
  • Experience with healthcare data a plus
  • Ability to manage time and priorities of multiple projects/tasks
  • Displays professionalism and ability to learn quickly
  • Conscientious of work quality and deadlines
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate closely with multiple teams across a wide range of technical backgrounds
