WEX Inc. seeks a Business Intelligence Analyst 2 in Sandy, UT to apply principles of data engineering, data analytics, and statistical modeling to develop data, analyze and interpret data, diagnose business processes, and identify and assess financial risk relating to financing and credit transactions by the WEX Fleet Solutions and Travel and Corporate Solutions business segment. Specific core duties and responsibilities include data-driven analysis of current business processes and gathering and analysis of data about component parts of business, financing and credit processes in support of ongoing data analytics, internal audits, and non-routine special projects using principles of data engineering, data analytics, and statistical modeling and a variety of data analytics tools and methods, including data transformation, systems integration, data visualization, optimization modeling and execution, structured and unstructured data analysis, data modeling, correlation analysis, and statistical validation; extraction and transformation of data and creation of data architectures for financial data that support data-driven, analytics based assessment of financial risk; use and testing of analytics software, data base user interface and query software, and object or component oriented data development software to develop, analyze and interpret data, diagnose business processes, and identify financial risk; collaborating with business executives, managers, and internal auditors to identify and analyze data relating to business, financial and credit processes to identify and assess financial risk and insure compliance with policies, procedures, laws and regulations, identify and recommend business improvements to improve productivity and regulatory compliance, and partner with a Portfolio Risk Analyst to insure effective communication and deployment of policies, procedures and management reporting; preparing and presenting reports relating to analysis of data in support of ongoing data analytics, internal audits, and non-routine special projects; presenting the results of statistical modeling and data analysis to management or other end users; and defining data requirements and gathering and validating information, applying judgment, principles of data engineering and data analytics, and statistical tests.
The minimum requirements for the position are a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business Intelligence Information and Analytics, or a related field; three (3) years of experience; and the following proficiencies/skills: knowledge of management information systems, data engineering, data analytics, statistics, data modeling, data transformation, structured and unstructured data analysis, correlation analysis, and statistical validation; business intelligence analytics/reporting; relational database management; Excel; Tableau; Oracle; DB2; SQL; MySQL; Microsoft SQL Server; Python; and statistical modeling (SAS). Telecommuting permitted provided the Business Intelligence Analyst 2 works at least 2/days per week at the WEX office in Sandy, UT.
