The Sr. Manager of Data Strategy is an enterprise level role that reports to the SVP, Data Products & Analytics and is responsible for driving the Enterprise Data Strategy at WEX. This role will direct a team of analysts, product manager, and project manager to execute our data strategy. The Sr. Manager of Data Strategy is a member of the Sr. Data Leadership team and a key team member in the Enterprise Data Organization that closely partners with Product and Technology teams across WEX. 

Essential Duties

• Manage & Drive the Enterprise Data Strategy

• Define & Implement Enterprise Data & Machine Learning (ML) Governance

• Set the Strategic Vision and Product Manage the Data Platform

• Build & Execute Data Culture strategies to increases data literacy across WEX 

• Engage in external opportunities to increase WEX’s Data Brand (e.g. speaking at conferences, University partnerships, etc.) 

• Remains on the cutting edge of artificial intelligence (AI) and data technologies

• Builds and executes a research roadmap to drive new insights into our businesses and products

The right candidate for this position will achieve the following:

• Within three months, understand WEX’s Corporate and Data Strategies and be able to relate that to our Data Platform Roadmap 

• Within six months, define, plan and begin implementation of data enterprise data governance strategy 

• Within nine months, assess roadmap, business needs, and technologies to optimize roadmap and execute pre-delivery work (e.g. tool selection, build / buy analysis, etc.) to drive our 2022 investments

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience

• 5+ years of experience with analytical, data science, and/or Business Intelligence tools 

• Experience defining data, product or business strategy

• Must be able to facilitate cross-functional teams and lead direct reports

• Must possess very strong communication and presentation skills

• Must operate in alignment with the company’s core values and competencies

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Related Field 

• 5+ Years Experience building, designing &/or supporting machine learning models or analytic development

• 8+ Years of Experience with analytical , data science, and/or Business Intelligence tools 

• 3+ Years Experience defining data, product or business strategy

• Experience defining, implementing or managing data governance

• Experience governing machine learning or statistical learning artifacts and infrastructure
