Job Summary:

The Data and Insights Developer will be responsible for the accurate, consistent, and timely reporting of enterprise financial and operational results. The developer will ensure report integrity by implementing systematic improvements that automate, streamline, and modernize the reporting, data visualization, and business intelligence processes in order to facilitate the communication of one version of the truth across the enterprise.

This position is a permanent remote home-based worker. Your home office does not need to be near an Allstate office, but it does need to be in the United States. This position is eligible for a monthly connectivity reimbursement to offset the costs of internet and phone expenses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently build and populate medium complexity financial and/or operational reports
  • Build, populate, and maintain medium complexity infographic dashboards using BI software; Tableau or PowerBI experience preferred
  • Implement creative reporting and data visualization concepts to gain efficiencies, best depict information, and craft action plans to improve overall business processes
  • Partner with team members, and business partners, to ensure complete post-implementation validation and user acceptance testing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set up recurring reports and dashboards, and support end-users throughout the reporting product lifecycle
  • Inspire trust and confidence throughout the organization by leveraging strategic and diplomatic relationship building skills
  • Provide high quality (accurate, timely, relevant) financial and operational reports to support business partners' performance improvement initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree or 1-2 years equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on data reporting 
  • 1 year of experience with data visualization


Functional Skills

  • Intermediate ability to build reports and/or technical tools, using a variety of data reporting and visualization software 
  • Beginner technical knowledge with data management processes (i.e.; data flow within systems, data mapping, meta data, etc.) and/or experience with integrating data from multiple sources, including relational databases, unstructured data, and/or other enterprise data stores
  • Working knowledge of data reporting and business knowledge (financial skills, follow the numbers)
  • Intermediate proficiency in querying, compiling, analyzing, and integrating information from different sources to make data informative; experience extracting data with SQL desired
  • Demonstrated ability to work with numbers and develop low to medium complexity formulas
  • Ability to focus on attention to details while utilizing systemic thinking to ideate
  • Intermediate PC skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively in a virtual team environment
  • Effective time management and organization skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Compensation Data

Compensation for this position will be $69,900 - $73,150 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
