The Role 

We're hiring a Business Intelligence Engineer to own the development of a dashboard that our Chief Technology Officer will use to monitor the health and progress of our engineering organization. 

You will own the integration of data from various sources into a single user-friendly dashboard that visualizes key insights. You ideally have strong written and verbal communication as this role will interface directly with an executive at Overjet.

This is a Contract position.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CTO to proactively assess the data needs of the Engineering organization so that you can deliver an effective analytics product.
  • Proactively monitor existing metrics, propose new metrics, and work across the organization to understand all the different data sources that will deliver actionable intelligence.
  • Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines that adhere to ETL principles and business goals to ensure that the dashboard is automated as much as possible.
  • Document technical details of your work using industry standard protocols.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Analytics or a related field.
  • Ability to automate data processes, develop dashboards, and build scalable analytics solutions.
  • Knowledge of ETL or data transformation processes, technical architecture documents, and delivering net new or enhancing existing data warehouses.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and proven ability to write, debug, and optimize SQL queries.
  • Programming experience in Java, Python, Scala, or another modern programming language.
  • Knowledge of self-serve BI solutions and automated reports that enable automated alerting and data quality monitoring.
  • Ability to tailor analytics products to meet the needs of end customers using tools ranging from Excel to Tableau.
