Healthgrades is focused on providing trusted information that helps consumers and providers make meaningful connections. As a Data Engineer you will be a part of the Data Operations team. This team is responsible for ETL, systems management, and visualization of all advertising and related data. This includes, but is not limited to, having a strong understanding of the many data sources Healthgrades and its clients utilize. Finding, building, and maintaining relationships between these various data sources, managing the code and systems that are required, and building reporting/visualizations of this data across various Healthgrades teams. Along with this, the Data Ops team is responsible for ensuring data integrity and security across the systems it manages.

What you will do:

  • Designing/implementing ETL processes and data standardization solutions
  • Populating the data warehouse and all related ETL of data functions
  • Perform tests, validate data flows and prepare all ETL processes, incorporating business requirements into all design specifications
  • Design and develop data mapping techniques for all data models in systems
  • Document technical and system specifications for all ETL processes
  • Analyze and interpret complex data on all target systems, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to validate requirements
  • Perform root cause analysis, resolve and validate all production data issues
  • Build and maintain web-based data entry/management tools for internal use
  • Design, build and automate business metrics for use in automated reports/dashboards
  • Champion a data-informed mindset within our culture
  • Automations of data extraction from RESTful API’s

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience interacting with RESTful service APIs
  • 3+ years’ experience in cloud environments (AWS and Snowflake preferred)
  • 3+ years’ experience with Python mandatory, PHP preferred
  • 5+ years experience with database technologies such as SQL
  • 5+ years’ experience with data warehousing architecture concepts and BI tools
  • Familiarity with Data Visualization systems (Tableau/Power BI/Data Studio)
  • Experience with GUI-based processing systems such as Talend, Trifacta, or others
  • Familiar with GUI-based web development tools such as Dreamweaver
  • Digital or Advertising Industry experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $81,000 - $95,000 annually*
  • Bonus: up to 5% annually
