Why We Need You

PagerDuty is growing and we are looking for an experienced Data Engineering Manager to manage and contribute to the Data Platform used by our Business users. As a Data Manager at PagerDuty, you will manage the team responsible for designing Data pipelines, building Aggregation, data models, deploying , and supporting all types of data solutions for teams across PagerDuty's growing global user base.   You are independent, process oriented and excited about having a big impact on a small but growing team.

Together with the other members of the BI/Data Platform team, you will have the opportunity to re-define how PagerDuty, designs, builds, integrates, and maintains a growing set of software and SaaS solutions. In this role, you will be working cross-functionally with business domain experts, analytics, and engineering teams to re-design and implement new Data Solutions for all our business groups.

How You Impact Our Vision

    • Be a champion of the overall strategy for data governance, security, privacy, quality and retention that will satisfy business policies and requirements 
    • Manage DataOps operations ensuring data quality, high availability, Operational maturity & Stable SLA 
    • Lead architecture, design, model of new Data solutions keeping in mind scalability, Global expansion, Security, Data Operations 
    • Manage a team of experienced data engineers, mentor ,coach and provide an environment to excel. 

Skills and Attributes

    • You will help lead initiatives to formalize data governance and management practices, rationalize our information lifecycle and key company metrics. 
    • You will provide mentorship and hands-on technical support to build trusted and reliable domain-specific datasets and metrics. 
    • You will have deep technical skills, be comfortable contributing to a nascent data ecosystem, and building a strong data foundation for the company. 
    • You will be a self-starter, detail and quality oriented, and passionate about having a huge impact at PagerDuty.

Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience 
    • 10+ years of experience working in data architecture, dimensional data modeling, master data management, metadata management . 
    • 5+ years managing team of experienced engineers, & building globally distributed teams. 
    • Excellent understanding of trade-offs between quality, speed, scale 
    • A consistent track record of close collaboration with business partners and crafting data solutions to meet their needs 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively collaborate with technical and business partners 
    • Demonstrated ability to navigate between big-picture and implementation details 
    • Experience designing, deploying, and managing full-stack data platforms in a cloud-based and Agile environment
    • Experience working in an Agile environment , familiar with Agile practices & pitfalls in Data Area 
    • Must have string hands on skill in any one BI/Data Warehouse technology preferably AWS redshift,Teradata or Snowflake. Should be comfortable analyzing and trouble shooting data issues. 
    • Knoweldge and Experience with any Data Integration tool like Talend, Fivetran,Mulesoft or Data platforms Databricks/Spark etc is huge plus.
    • Experience with DevOps methodology and tools.
