Data Governance Analyst III

About the role:
In this role, you will be primarily responsible for establishing and ensuring the adherence to data governance policies, processes, and standards that are in-line with organizational priorities, as well as working with data stakeholders on business and technology teams to ensure the right data is used for the right purpose. You will work with cross-functional groups to establish and document enterprise and domain standards, capture metadata on critical data assets, bring transparency to the meaning of data, and support a data-driven culture across the enterprise.
What you’ll do:
Within assigned domains, own the overall adoption of data governance to help make it easy to find, understand, and use data for the right purpose
Rollout and mature the data governance program and frameworks in new domains, including but not limited to: standards for cataloging data assets & metadata curation, data governance roles & responsibilities (definition, assignment, and recruitment), and governance community development
Collaborate with data stakeholders in business and data & analytics teams to provide oversight and uncover ongoing data governance opportunities
Support data owners, stewards, and experts efforts to mature and continually curate WEX’s data catalog providing the necessary business context to data consumers
Work in close partnership with cross-functional teams throughout the organization drive data governance processes and evaluate new engagement opportunities
Participate in and/or lead data governance committees to support domain or functional area objectives
Facilitate the sharing and adoption of data governance best practices throughout the data community
Ensure adherence to Data Governance procedures to help build trust and usability of data on the platform

Experience you’ll bring:
4+ years of experience in an analytics/data governance role working with data stakeholders
Understanding of data governance best practices, processes, roles and responsibilities
Experience establishing standard data definitions, business glossaries, data dictionaries and/or data catalogs
Experience with metadata management; familiarity with master & reference data
Experience with an Enterprise-class governance software such as Alation, Collibra, Informatica, etc
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across IT and business
Passion for data and how to make it easy to find, understand, and use
Willingness to develop new technical and soft skills to support data governance goals
