Summary:

The Data Scientist will live and breathe data and be excited about building user-facing data products. They will work with the Product Development team, Health Data Science team, other internal stakeholders, and external stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions powered by our unique data pipeline. The Data Scientist will excel at creative problem solving, cross-team collaboration, and thinking independently about how to utilize data to address the challenges our customers face.

What You'll Do:

•       Data Analysis: Perform thorough data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can guide business strategies and product development.

•       Model Development: Design, develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms that enable predictive and prescriptive analytics to solve complex business challenges.

•       Feature Engineering: Identify relevant features and preprocess data to optimize model performance and accuracy.

•       Experimentation: Devise and conduct experiments to test hypotheses, refine models, and enhance the performance of AI algorithms.

•       Data Visualization: Create clear and compelling data visualizations and reports to effectively communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

•       Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, product managers, domain experts, and other scientists to integrate data-driven insights into the product development lifecycle.

•       Continuous Learning: Stay up to date on industry trends and advancements in data science and healthcare.

•       Data Integrity: Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency throughout all stages of data collection, processing, and analysis.

What Success Looks Like:

In 3 months:

•       Become familiar with our data infrastructure, ETL processes, and data models.

•       Complete onboarding and training programs.

•       Work collaboratively with the data and product teams to understand our data-driven approach to product development.

In 6 months:

•       Build predictive models to inform product development.

•       Develop and implement data-driven strategies to support business growth.

•       Conduct statistical analyses to validate and interpret results.

In 12 months:

•       Develop innovative data-driven solutions to improve healthcare outcomes.

•       Provide thought leadership on data science techniques and methodologies.

•       Contribute to the growth and development of our data team.

What You Need:

•       Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.

•       3-5 years of related experience

•       Experience in developing predictive and machine learning models

•       Proficiency in Python and SQL.

•       Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI).

•       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

•       Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

•       Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

•       Self‐motivated and able to adapt and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment

•       Ability to travel periodically for work.

•       A work environment that is conducive to high quality virtual interactions. This includes but is not limited to being able to work from a quiet space with minimal interruptions or distractions, and a strong internet connection.

Special Consideration Given to:

•       Experience with supervised and unsupervised anomaly/outlier detection models.

•       Experience with time-series models (e.g., simple models, average and smoothing models, linear regression models, ARIMA models).

•       A proficient understanding of basic machine learning model performance metrics (e.g., accuracy, precision, recall, F1, Matthew’s correlation coefficient, ROC/AUC and theory (e.g., variance-bias tradeoff)).

•       An understanding of the pharmaceutical supply chain.

•       An understanding of the pillars of and practices of FairAI.
