Summary:
This is a product role for a person comfortable working with data who wants to use their skills to answer product questions as well as support the early development of new data products, with a specific focus on Controlled Substance data solutions. As a Sr. Product Analyst, you will take part in creating early-stage data products, supporting the customers that use them, and developing a deeper understanding of our products and the data interdependencies. You will exercise a combination of data analytics proficiency and a product-focused skill set in this role.
What You’ll Do:
• Learn Bamboo Health’s products, markets, and customers to understand the healthcare outcomes we strive to deliver.
• Develop a working understanding of our products and our data models to support teammates with proof-of-concept work and querying (SQL) projects.
• Familiarize yourself with how data is passed between applications and ultimately reported to external users. Support conversations pertaining to data sourcing and reporting output.
• Become the customer’s resource for early-stage data and analytics product investigation.
• Understand capacities of the data and assist engineering teams in creating mock-ups of product deliverables to be shared with stakeholders.
• Act as the liaison between end users and internal stakeholders who maintain critical business relationships. Translate the end user’s needs into detailed requirements for engineering and development teams. Lead user acceptance testing and quality assurance testing. Educate end user on delivered reporting product.
• Working with the customer and the Product Owners, create product documentation including, but not limited to, user guides and data dictionaries. Maintain documentation to reflect enhancements made to product offerings over time.
• Divide time between operational data triaging and developing reporting product offerings in alignment with the product roadmap and strategic direction.
• Utilize data analysis techniques to guide product development strategies. Share impact analyses and gap analyses with internal stakeholders to drive product offerings forward.

In 3 months…
• You have access to all necessary data and are beginning to understand the sources and deliverables of that data. You can connect to the database and query with guidance.
• You understand the mission of Bamboo Health and how our reporting contributes to our company’s goals.
• You are playing an active role in early-stage data product discussions and decision making and beginning to assist Product Owners in tasks of SCRUM and Agile processes.
In 6 months…
• You are taking ownership of data product requests, while relying on your teammates for subject matter expertise.
• You can query the database, document your process, and articulate your findings.
• You are familiar with the data models and how they relate to existing product. You are beginning to understand how the many applications are related and how to connect the data of each platform.
• You are comfortable joining customer calls and sharing initial findings with both internal and external stakeholders.
In 12 months…
• You developed a functional competence over all data products in your scope and can effectively communicate your scope with stakeholders.
• You understand the limitations of the data, can communicate said limitations in relation to specific projects, and support our product and engineering teams in delivering product despite existing limitations.
• You are thinking about our reporting capabilities, our user needs, and our business strategy. You are an informed voice in conversations around prioritization of requests.
What You Need:
• Either a four-year degree in a related field plus a strong interest in problem solving with data or professional experience in data analysis with a strong interest in business problems for healthcare.
• 5+ years of professional experience in data analysis with a strong interest in business problems for healthcare.
• Moderate to advanced SQL query skills with an interest in enhancing and improving those abilities.
• Proficient in visualizing data through Power BI, Tableau, or Excel pivot tables.
• Proficient in communicating with both internal and external stakeholders and presenting findings.
• Experience working in an Agile Environment and utilizing JIRA is preferred; however, a strong willingness to learn is also highly valued.
• A high level of judgement, analytical ability, and creativity in investigating problems that require original and innovative solutions.
• The ability to take initiative and work independently. Can effectively manage tasks without constant oversight.
• Strong self-awareness and proactive communication.
• Ability and interest in establishing ownership, determining next steps, and defining timelines. Capable of stepping up when needed and involving the appropriate decision-makers to drive momentum forward.
• A work environment that is conducive to high quality virtual interactions. This includes but is not limited to being able to work from a quiet space with minimal interruptions or distractions, and a strong internet connection.
• The ability to travel periodically for work.
• A high level of judgment, analytical ability and creativity in investigating problems that require original and innovative solutions.
• Experience working a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environments.
