About the Role:

As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in formulating the most suitable Machine Learning (ML) solutions through owning the end-to-end development of ML models (ideation, development, validation, and model monitoring). Alongside the Data Analytics team, you will work together to implement the predictions monitoring framework in Looker.

During your first year, you can expect to:

  • Understand business requirements and translate them into problem statements, then ideate and recommend data science solutions after thorough research
  • Focus on Feature Engineering, Model Training, and Model Evaluation in addition to data munging/wrangling
  • Identify the most fitting algorithms and statistical techniques for various projects, as well as the best features for models
  • Set up and own post-deployment model monitoring
  • Make business recommendations and effectively present the findings across various stakeholder levels
  • 2+ years working experience building ML models for real-world problems from ideation to implementation
  • Master’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics disciplines
  • Demonstrated proficiency in one or more statistical programming languages for data science - we use Python
  • Comfortability with writing complex SQL queries to extract and integrate data from multiple database sources
  • Desire to learn and implement production deployment of ML models, if not experienced with it

Nice to Haves:

  • Ability to make business recommendations and present to stakeholders
  • Experience with production deployment
  • Proficiency in R, SparkSQL, PySpark, Looker, and/or Azure Databricks

We will be remote-first for all of 2021. In 2022, we will implement a flexible remote policy with opportunities to work in-office.
