We’re an international AgTech startup pioneering an ambitious mission in a high-growth industry where agriculture meets technology to solve our toughest climate and economic challenges. Through the use of data-driven insights, natural microbiology, and innovative digital technologies, Indigo is partnering across the supply chain, ultimately cultivating a scalable climate solution and enhanced partner ecosystem that beneficially serves farmers, consumers, and the planet alike.
Our mission is unique, and therefore our teams are too: from multigenerational farming gurus who understand the land as though it were an extension of themselves, to cutting-edge techies on the frontier of innovation, our teams are a reflection of the range of the stakeholders we serve: the Earth, the Farmer, and the Consumer.
The Carbon Quantification team combines statistics, science, and modeling to explore the frontiers of carbon sequestration and quantification technologies. We are looking for a Data Scientist who is excited by the challenge of building data pipelines and augmenting our computational analytics to inform the future of Indigo’s Carbon program.
What Will You Do(?):
- Become an expert in the data and data transformations that drive Indigo Carbon’s crediting pipeline
- Familiarize self with stakeholders and key points of contact for collecting, managing and QC’ing soils and management data from farmers
- Analyze and interpret data from field and modeled experiments to inform improvement and optimization of Indigo Carbon’s crediting system
- Forecast credit opportunities with external and internal model outputs combined with predictive variables like weather, agricultural practice, and soil
- Develop requirements and work with Engineering to build automated data pipelines and tooling for farmer facing products
- Analyze the impacts of various data imputation techniques on Carbon program outcomes to drive prioritization and decisions
- Work with product, agronomic, and research teams to support farmer recommendations to optimize credit generation
- Prototype data connections between modeling and soil observation database, including experiments and literature
