We are currently seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, Analytics Engineering to drive analytic products and services for the company. This is an opportunity to head a team of experienced analytics engineers in lighting up one of the most diverse and fast-changing enterprise datasets in the world. Our teams daily interact with millions of bushels of grain transactions, thousands of miles of transportation services events, billions of satellite and on-farm agronomic data points, and millions of digital customer records and digital marketing events. The Senior Engineering Manager, Analytics Engineering will work closely with our Business Intelligence (BI) group to scale all of that data into stable, repeatable KPIs, metrics, and explorable data sets that drive our business decisions and operations. Will also work closely with our Software engineering teams to translate persistent models into domain models and our Data Science teams to understand the data needed to power Data Science models. 

As Senior Engineering Manager, Analytics Engineering, you will bring deep experience hiring, training, equipping, and retaining top Analytic Engineering talent in medium-sized companies. We are looking for a track record of translating business problems into actionable marts from data produced by our Software teams. 

Responsibilities:

    • Establish a set of data marts that can explored to answer business questions & start as springboard for Data Science models
    • Create opportunities for team skill development & career progression, including practical training in consultative skills, workflows, and technology platforms.
    • Develop standards for the team and a coherent approach to intake and prioritization. Identify early gaps in resourcing and project with reliability turnaround time. Ability to increase the velocity of delivering insights without sacrificing quality.
    • Align and balance the demands of competing business leaders ensuring that we're spending resources on the top priorities for the business vs. nice-to-haves. Bring a practical bent to analytic problem solving, identifying the most efficient solution to complex reporting challenges.
    • Be the bridge between our Software Engineering groups and our BI analytic groups. Understanding how data used in our production systems can be transformed into marts that can be explored by multiple groups. 
    • Boost the efficiency of Indigo employees by maintaining a robust training and enablement program for data literacy across the organization. 
    • Ability to work with senior/executive leadership on priorities. 
    • Be a leader in our Data Platform organization and partner in strategy with Data Infrastructure and Data Governance.

Qualifications:

    • You have experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, data operations, analytics experience, or similar discipline
    • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in relevant field or related experience
    • You have experience building and managing multiple agile squads
    • You have experience with Excel, SQL, and databases; this is a must
    • You have experience in Python or another general purpose programming language
    • Having experience with data warehouse technologies is a must; Snowflake is a big plus
    • You have experience in data visualization frameworks (Looker, Spotfire, Tableau, Google Studio); this is a nice to have
    • Experience with DBT is a plus
    • Experience working cross-functionally with agile software development teams
    • Experience managing stakeholders at all levels up to C-suite executives
