About the Team:

Quizlet’s Machine Learning is core to Quizlet’s vision in being an AI tutor for everyone. We inspire, validate, build, and continuously improve ML/AI products to scale learning. Some things we’ve worked on include personalized learning experiences by modeling how students learn, smart assessment, and understanding our vast UGC study content (e.g. with subject classification). We make use of our unique data of billions of study interactions (per week!), learning science, diverse domain expertise, and many kinds of ML algorithms.

About the Role:

As an ML Data Scientist working on ads, you will be working with other data scientists, product managers, product, engineering, and sales to build an amazing ads product for our advertisers and users. 

In this role, you will:

    • Help improve and expand our ads product offering by using various ML techniques
    • Understand model stability and sources of volatility, and propose solutions for these
    • Leverage data to inform the right business decision, such as designing how to evaluate model updates and whether they should be launched
    • Implement solutions in production: writing production tables / services or directly improving our audience definitions

What you bring to the table:

    • You are enthusiastic to learn (and teach) new technologies, machine learning techniques, and keep up with advancements in the AdTech industry
    • Experience answering big picture questions by framing the business question into an analytical plan that can be communicate to stakeholders
    • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with knowledge of good engineering practices and an ability to learn new languages quickly
    • Solid understanding of various ML models, NLP, and optimization techniques
    • Genuine interests in going deep into the data to understand the stories and build theory and actionable insight from it
    • You are a compassionate team player and you see your growth and success entangled with the growth and success of your peers

Compensation, Benefits & Perks:

    • Colorado candidates: Base pay for this role starts at $99,000.  The actual pay may be higher depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience
