The Data Engineering team is growing fast, and starting to specialize. We partner heavily with Data Science - Machine Learning, Data Science - Analytics, and Product Engineering to support intelligence in the product, and quality in our decision-making.

We need an experienced Analytics Engineer to join the analytics specialization within Data Engineering. You will join the team that supports Quizlet’s data stores, data flows, and experimentation infrastructure. On a typical day you will work with analysts to understand how key metrics are derived, help upgrade our experimentation infrastructure, or research tooling that will help us reach our goals of getting the right data in the right place at the right time.

In this role, you will:

• Help bring the software development lifecycle to our data by porting metrics queries to dbt
• Drive a revolution in our A/B testing infrastructure
• Work with Data Scientists, Analysts, and Finance to model, transform and prepare data for use in analytic and reporting models
• Be instrumental in preparing our data governance practices for external scrutiny

What you bring to the table:

• Experience with data analysis and preparation, including considerable experience with very large data sets and semi-structured data
• Exposure to A/B testing concepts
• Expertise in database development & data model design
• Extensive experience in SQL and using database platforms such as BigQuery, MySQL, Redshift or Snowflake 
• Good software development skills, preferably in Python or Go

Bonus points if you have:

• Specific experience with Google Cloud Platform
• Leadership experience (there will be future opportunities for this as the analytics engineering specialization grows)

Compensation, Benefits & Perks:

• Colorado candidates: Base pay for this role starts at $141,000.  The actual pay may be higher depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience
