About the Team:

Quizlet’s Machine Learning is core to Quizlet’s vision in being an AI tutor for everyone. We inspire, validate, build, and continuously improve ML/AI products to scale learning. Some things we’ve worked on include personalized learning experiences by modeling how students learn, smart assessment, and understanding our vast UGC study content (e.g. with subject classification). We make use of our unique data of billions of study interactions (per week!), learning science, diverse domain expertise, and cutting edge ML, particularly in NLP. 

About the Role:
As a Sr. ML Manager, you are a key leader in Quizlet’s strategy. You will lead teams to solve problems potentially in understanding our vast UGC of study content spanning every subject studied, showing content relevant to the student’s syllabus, or real-time personalized guidance.

In this role, you will:

    • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of outstanding machine learning data scientists
    • Help drive the strategic vision of what ML can unlock for scaled learning, clearly communicating it across the organization, including to the executive team
    • Collaborate with Product and other leaders to define the roadmap and supervise its execution, coordinating across teams; at the same time, you will nurture research for new initiatives

What you bring to the table:

    • 7+ years experience in machine learning and a proven track record of delivering impactful, production ML solutions at scale
    • 2+ years experience as a people manager
    • A deep understanding of machine learning approaches and technology architectures, as well as of product and user needs. 
    • Ability to drive product development efforts and trade-off decisions via that understanding
    • You can navigate an organization to drive clarity and impact

Bonus points if you have experience with:

    • UGC content
    • Working in learning technology

Salary transparency helps to mitigate unfair hiring practices when it comes to discrimination and pay gaps.  Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a starting base salary of $159,000 - $250,000, depending on location and experience, as well as company stock options
