About the Role

Dutchie is seeking a Director, Business Intelligence to lead our analytics function. The Analytics team uses data to create better customer experiences, enable smarter business decisions, and drive innovations company-wide. We do this by maintaining a reliable data infrastructure, providing accurate, actionable analyses, and building sophisticated data products.

We are looking for a champion of data-driven culture, rigorous analysis, customer empathy, and business acumen to help steer dutchie on our path of growth and constant improvement. You will, individually and as the leader of a team, identify meaningful insights and inform important decisions using dutchie’s rich data, your technical expertise, and strong cross-functional relationships.

What You'll Do...

Own Data’s Roadmap:

• Lead and define the vision and strategy of the analytics team with a focus on creating a data-driven culture at dutchie and value for dutchie’s customers
• Partner with leaders and others across the company to understand and prioritize questions and problems, then analyze data and run experiments to find solutions and actionable recommendations
• Monitor business performance and market trends to spot strengths and educate other company leaders on areas of opportunity

Team Management:

• Hire, manage, develop, and mentor a highly-skilled team of analysts, ensuring they are supported in delivering high-quality, impactful work while challenging them to grow
• Mentor team on strategic analyses & career growth, and be a talent magnet that retains and attracts top talent

Data Management:

• Advance analytics team practices, processes, and documentation and build upon tools and infrastructure in partnership with data engineering
• Work with stakeholders across the business to develop requirements and data models that support business initiatives. Ensure datasets are high quality and accurate
• Partner with Infrastructure teams to manage the complete data stack from ETL platforms through business intelligence tools

What You Bring...

• 8+ years using sophisticated data analysis to drive business results across high-growth tech startups, management consulting, investing, or other relevant businesses. You also have experience leading large technical projects with engineer partners
• 3+ years of experience leading a data team in a high-growth environment
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complicated and nuanced insights in accessible language to stakeholders with diverse perspectives
• 8+ years writing elegant, performant SQL queries, including 2+ years on MPP data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift)
• 5+ years of developing version-controlled data models and transformation pipelines, including 2+ years in an ELT framework using software like dbt or Dataform. Experience using orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect is a plus
• 3+ years of experience managing and developing business intelligence solutions with tools like Looker, Tableau, Metabase, Sisense, Mode, or Domo
