About the Role

It is an exciting time as we are in the early stages of building our team. Your work as a Senior Analytics Engineer in the Data Platforms team supports internal analytics and customer-facing products and experiences. Your primary responsibility is to build data products (curated datasources) using the infrastructure and environment set up by the Data Engineers. You will write transformation jobs to generate such data products, and you will be maintaining them. When required, you will be optimizing the performance of the data products. You are tasked with maintaining the data quality and responsible for defining the quality standards of the data in collaboration with the Data Governance team. It includes setting minimum acceptance criteria for the data products. In this role, you will write scripts and cleansing algorithms to refine the data further.

What You'll Do...

  • Design, build and maintain reusable data transformations (data products) that power internal and external-facing visualizations using SQL & dbt

  • Ensure data quality and integrity
  • Automate and scale repeated ad-hoc requests
  • Define quality standards of the data and partner with the Data Governance team to define minimum acceptance criteria for all datasources
  • Data cataloging & documentation of the data products (curated datasources)
  • Partner with the Data Governance team to establish data discovery
  • Act as a thought partner to determine data requirements for downstream analyses

What You Bring...

  • 5+ years of work experience at an eCommerce or SaaS company creating data models, querying, curating, and presenting data
  • 1+ years experience with dbt
  • Advanced skills with writing clean, performant, and scalable SQL
  • Experience using version control (command-line, Git)
  • Solid understanding of data warehouses like Snowflake (Redshift, BigQuery) and business intelligence tools like Tableau or Looker
  • Analytical mindset, with strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Project management skills and a demonstrated ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with non-technical partners and understand the business value of data products
  • Passionate about building the best version of whatever you’re working on
  • Nice to have: familiarity with Python, Spark, R coding language, Airflow or willingness to learn
