Director of Marketing Analytics 

PagerDuty is looking for a strong leader to take our marketing analytics practice to the next level. Reporting to the VP, Marketing Operations, you will define the strategy for our marketing analytics platform, deliver insights, make marketing performance data and analysis available to the organization, and enable predictive modeling capabilities to improve ROI and effectiveness in reaching our target audiences. 

You will lead a team of analysts and data scientists to distill data insights for key Marketing partners (Marketing execution leaders and extended leadership teams). Your experience building and managing teams will ensure high performance at both the individual and team levels. You will oversee the execution of initiatives, projects, and daily tasks in collaboration with key stakeholders, other departments, and external vendors. 

You speak the language of marketers as well as data analysts, translating business questions into technical requirements. You are deeply analytical and thrive when extracting insight from complicated datasets, building and delivering a narrative that’s accessible to stakeholders at all levels in the business. 

You will be responsible for communicating analytics plans, goals, resources, and strategy to leadership, marketing team members, business intelligence, and data partners. You will partner closely with the Marketing Automation and Sales Operations teams to enhance and optimize demand generation processes through data analysis and validation. 

Key Responsibilities - How You Impact Our Vision

  • Build, lead and grow a world-class marketing analytics team encouraging an environment of innovation, creative problem-solving approaches, testing/experimentation, and personal development
  • Develop the marketing analytics strategy that combines technical infrastructure, data management, resourcing, and strategy to support PagerDuty’s marketing goals and priorities.
  • Drive the design and delivery of marketing analytics deliverables (scorecards, weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting, deep-dive analysis, ad hoc analysis, analytics strategies, stakeholder enablement, predictive insights) ensuring quality and rigor of analysis
  • Review and re-define critical metrics to track the performance of marketing programs. Build and implement PLG, Sales Assisted, Event, and ABM performance frameworks.
  • Revamp and update marketing attribution models and drive alignment across cross-functional teams to ensure the trustworthiness of the data/reporting
  • Maintain and coordinate existing company marketing data and reporting initiatives while driving the creation, development, and implementation of improved marketing data, analysis, modeling, and reporting.
  • Support key business leaders and cross-functional teams by providing counsel, expertise on-going education and training, and recommending marketing reporting solutions to business challenges.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of proven background working with marketing analytics in a SaaS or B2B environment
  • 3+ years of experience managing a global team, engaging a team virtually, and providing coaching and guidance to various role levels within the team
  • 5+ years of experience in data visualization platforms, Tableau preferred 
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Experience with Salesforce, Marketo, ABM, and related platforms such as Demandbase preferred
  • A first-class leader who can set clear roles & responsibilities and balance/prioritize the demands of the marketing organization against the capacity to the team 
  • Proven ability to design and build attribution, forecasting, cost per lead, and other models leading to a clear methodology for evaluating ROI on marketing activities
  • Ability to multitask, make quick and effective decisions, set and meet goals, and consistently meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to changing business needs and processes.
  • Highly collaboratively and able to work effectively with various personality types across many different teams and role levels within the global organization
  • Creativity, problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and effective communication skills are essential.
