At Pinterest, people analytics is a team of strategic advisors who help leaders use data-based insights to optimize employee potential and impact on business results. As our Head of People Insights and Analytics, you will lead our people analytics team to execute on our roadmap and scale our offerings to help shape our future workforce and accelerate company growth. You will champion our people analytics efforts, partnering with cross functional teams and business leaders. We are looking for a senior leader to drive impact by generating, sharing, and scaling people analytics insights for the company. The team includes product delivery analysts, researchers, data scientists, and people analytics consultants, who partner with HRBPs and the business to identify the insights leaders need. In this role , you will apply a center of excellence model for qualitative and quantitative employee research expertise, supporting our people-centered approach to program design.

What you’ll do:

  • Execute on our people analytics vision and strategy, prioritizing deliverables over the near term while building the foundation for more advanced analytics and research capabilities over the long term
  • Provide thought leadership on how data can be used to optimize the employee life cycle 
  • Use data visualization and storytelling skills to effectively communicate insights to leaders and influence decisions and outcomes as well as build that capability in others
  • Provide reporting and analytics frameworks and technical solutions that support the goals of our stakeholders 
  • Apply a product mentality to help design, launch, and scale repeatable data products such as dashboards and outcome-based analytics with an eye towards quality, operational efficiency, and business outcomes
  • Lead and grow a team of people analytics professionals
  • Build additional capacity within the people team to use data and analytics to drive decision-making
  • Collaborate with our people tech team and other technology leaders to maintain and evolve a robust data warehouse from which we can extract data for insights
  • In partnership with our tech teams, assess which software, tools, and vendor partnerships we should invest in to support our people analytics efforts and best facilitate access to data for decision makers
  • Establish governance practices to ensure we are both legally compliant and ethically sound in how we manage people data, partnering closely with our legal and security teams

What we are looking for:

  • 10+ years of combined experience in HR, people analytics, data science/business intelligence or other related disciplines in innovative companies, with tech experience scaling up a people analytics team highly desirable
  • Experience leading people analytics professionals
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience turning data into actionable insights and narratives as well as scaling analytic solutions into repeatable product offerings
  • Knowledge of SQL and Python or R; experience with Workday and other business intelligence tools such as Tableau
  • Well versed in workforce data analysis and HR metrics, including market trends driving the future growth of people analytics functions
  • Good understanding of people data technology, including data warehouse maintenance and expansion, and tools to integrate people data to answer business questions efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to a wide audience and influence change by translating insights into action
  • Experience collaborating across multiple stakeholder groups, communicating with diverse audiences, and balancing/negotiating priorities
  • Scrappy, practical and resourceful; able to scale up and down creatively
  • Strong project management capabilities, managing multiple project streams and priorities
