About the Role

Udemy is looking to hire a Head of Product Analytics within the Product, Data, Design, and Engineering organization. This is an advanced analytics group focused on using data to drive internal decision-making related to how we build our products.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and growing a data science organization comprised of both vertical teams (focused on Udemy’s consumer and enterprise products) and horizontal teams (focused on pricing, promotions, and experimentation). Success in the role will require a combination of people management and stakeholder management skills, broad and deep data science expertise, strong systems thinking, superb communication ability, and experience leading large organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, hire, and retain an amazing organization of high caliber data scientists
  • Provide high-level technical and career mentorship for senior team members
  • Collaborate with other data leaders to define Udemy’s long-term data strategy/vision
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to shape the product roadmap and drive execution
  • Develop, document, and refine internal processes for running the organization at scale
  • Maintain high quality standards for data science work and recruiting
  • Build Udemy’s technical brand through talks, blog posts, and publications

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in data science roles
  • 5+ years of management experience, including at least 3+ years of experience at the Director level or above
  • Experience with scaling analytics in large consumer or enterprise internet companies
  • Strong knowledge of applied statistics, experimental design, and causal inference
  • Broad familiarity with modern software development and data engineering principles
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-driven, highly motivated, and able to learn quickly
