Autodesk is seeking a Data Engineering Intern with interest in building data pipelines and designing data quality assurance solutions to join our Enterprise Data Engineering & Visualization (EDEV) team. The EDEV Team is chartered with building robust and resilient pipelines that create the master data sets that serve as the building blocks for all data scientists and data analysts throughout the organization. In addition, this team establishes and promotes data engineering standards and best practices across Autodesk and helps to lead the effort to make data an integral part of decision making at Autodesk.
Responsibilities
Mapping and automating data flow from a variety of sources including desktop, web, and mobile product feeds and business systems
Leverage test-driven driven development principles to design data transformations running on Apache Spark or dbt Snowflake that are orchestrated via Airflow
Deploy solutions via automated CI/CD processes to execute data pipelines running in batch
Work with programming languages used for data manipulation, including: PySpark, Spark SQL, Snowflake SQL
Develop, execute, and document software solutions to address complex data collection, processing, transformation, and reporting issues.
Interpret and translate business needs to technical requirements
Work with team to troubleshoot code level problems quickly and efficiently
Design solutions to measure data quality and detect data issues and anomalies
Qualifications
Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree and relevant experience in the field of Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics; advanced degree a plus
Training and experience in big data technologies including Spark, Hadoop, RedShift, Snowflake, Hive, Lambda, S3
Proficiency in executing analysis using SQL, Hive, Spark Data Frames, and Python
Strong SQL skills
Working knowledge of basic and complex data structures
Effective communication skills and ability to explain complex topics to a non-technical audience
Knowledge of handling large data sets, event streams and distributed computing (Hive/Hadoop, Spark etc.)
Familiarity working with Agile Scrum Teams
About the US Intern Program
The U.S. program runs from May through August for 12 weeks and will be remote (subject to change). All internships are paid. Interns have the opportunity to work alongside peers from universities all over the country and participate in intern events such as TED talks, mentoring, fun events, and more. US recruiting begins in the Fall and concludes end of March.
