Who You Are
BHG Financial is seeking an experienced Lead Business Intelligence Analyst with Business Intelligence (BI) and modern reporting tool (Power BI/Tableau) skills to support enterprise reporting requirements. The person will be responsible for the architecture, design, development, coding, testing, deployment, debugging, administration integration, documentation, and customization of enterprise BI models for use in analytic applications. They will work closely with other Power BI/Tableau and data experts to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes while collaborating with the internal technical team on information sources and architecture. This candidate will have excellent TSQL experience as well as advanced practical Power BI and Tableau knowledge.
What You'll Do
- The Lead Business Intelligence Analyst will create Power BI/Tableau dashboards, reports, and applications utilizing industry best practices.
- The Lead Business Intelligence Analyst will generate these reports and dashboards which represent operational data in a brief and intelligible format, suitable for the target audience, which includes executive leadership, departmental managers, as well as operational reports for day-to-day business operations.
- This role will actively determine prospective data for reports via thorough knowledge of Data Warehousing, TSQL, and
- Carry out a quality assessment of data, data reports, and the accompanying decisions.
- Determine data required to support the report needs via strong TSQL and Databricks SQL skills.
- Establish the cost of data so as to suggest cost savings enhancement procedures during report authorship.
- Liaise with report owners to spearhead the organization in employing data-motivated decision-making.
- Conduct analysis of findings and offer action-driven recommendations and insights to executive leaders and managers on the basis of results.
- Trail industry yardstick, trends and benchmarks, and convey such information to self-service report writers as well as internal best practices.
- Utilize and develop tabular cubes/models for optimal performance and ease of use.
- Develop, administer, and maintain reporting structures.
- Responsible for designing, creating, deploying, and managing a project’s data architecture.
- Participate in the administration of BI Platforms including usage, capacity via APIs, logs, and internal reports
- Collaborate with power users to develop metrics that track strategic initiatives.
- Provide detailed training for business users on the benefits of leveraging reports, dashboards, and data models.
- Establish a community within the company to increase proficiency, standardize approaches, and empower the data literacy of the organization.
- Work within business and technical project teams.
- Work with internal stakeholders and data warehouse staff to determine business reporting and analysis requirements.
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of professional experience in an analytics, data, or business intelligence field
- Thorough knowledge of the design of modern reporting tool data models, data flows and data warehousing techniques to optimize model structure and performance.
- Experience designing and developing data-driven views, reports, objects, hierarchies, filters, dashboards, metrics, and visualizations on the Microsoft Power BI/Tableau platform.
- Thorough knowledge of DAX / Merge (m) techniques behind the Power BI suite.
- Thorough practical knowledge of Azure Data Bricks/MS/Azure SQL: queries, dynamic queries, and stored procedures.
- Knowledge of Tableau reporting techniques, coding principles, and delivery methods.
- Knowledge of the Power BI platform including query folding, data querying and modeling capabilities, such as the creation of calculated columns, measures, and relationships.
- Experience gathering business requirements, translating the requirements into technical report requirements, defining functional specs for reporting, and collaborating with architects, developers, and testers.
- Experience with Microsoft tools (Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot, etc.).
- Practical knowledge of Data Warehousing principles via Kimball methodologies.
- Experienced in creating reports from diverse sources.
- Has demonstrated the ability to use rapid prototyping and iterative design processes.
- Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative.
- Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.
- Able to help the organization set priorities, adhere to deadlines to meet goals, and adapt to schedule changes.
