Guild is hiring a Lead Data Quality Reporting Services Developer. This role helps support the overall Data Quality enablement & support for data management at Guild. The role is part of the Data Quality & Governance program at Guild and is synonymous with that of a Lead BI Developer with a focus on data quality.

In this role, you will actively partner in and/or lead multiple organization-wide data quality initiatives with a strong adherence to data governance standard methodologies. You will be responsible for partnering with key team members & data architects across the organization ensuring data quality and leading the measurement, monitoring, and reporting of data quality metrics.

As Lead Data Quality Reporting Services Developer you will:

  • Actively champion the value of quality data & data governance by promoting ideas into action
  • Serve as a liaison between the business and Data Ops, promoting collaboration and communication and ensuring that data quality-related requirements are clearly defined, prioritized, and well understood
  • Drive projects in collaboration with data engineers & architects across teams and business units to support strategic & operational data quality initiatives
  • Make recommendations on Data Quality reporting solutions based on industry standard methodologies. Strive to actively highlight the process and design improvements to identify and improve data quality across all systems at Guild
  • Define, design, and build new data quality reports/dashboards based on the needs of the business; make recommendations in key systems for remediation of data quality issues
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of our operational data by guiding our data quality efforts
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of data management policies, playbook, technical specs, processes & procedures for guiding various data management processes
  • Assist the team actively in the management of day-to-day operations and project solutions
  • Use Looker, DBT, data catalog & lineage tools as well as data quality and governance platforms (like Collibra, Alation, Informatica…) to design and develop solutions as part of the data quality & governance program including data quality dashboards & solutions to measure and monitor the quality of data.
  • Work in collaboration with the architects; compile requirements; design product solutions and lead key initiatives or medium-large projects (e.g. building a data quality management tool for monitoring the quality of operational or analytical data sets)
  • Put processes in place for alerts to data pipeline changes or before large data anomalies are discovered by our end users.
  • Find creative solutions to improve system efficiencies (e.g. use a scripting language to automate a manual process)
  • Work with reporting infrastructure tools and systems (e.g. Airflow, Snowflake, DBT, Looker, Github) to support SDLC of data quality solutions; perform design & code reviews
  • Support monitoring, alerting, and anomaly detection efforts to measure performance, accuracy, and usage of data and reports
  • Support team members by sharing technical knowledge and helping troubleshoot issues that arise and technical skills to be learned
  • Solidify documentation for platforms/solutions developed.

You will be successful in this role if:

  • You have a sophisticated and solid understanding of end-to-end data management techniques; You have experience in hands-on data quality improvement techniques
  • You have extensive development experience working in business intelligence tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc.., infrastructure, data engineering, analytics, or a related technical role in a fast-paced business or start-up environment
  • You have experience building data pipelines, custom ETL processes, data warehouses, and table architecture; shown expertise in database technologies such as Redshift, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and working with large sets of data
  • You have extensive experience developing and completing data quality and governance platforms at the enterprise level and, data visualization platforms
  • You have confirmed communication skills with the ability to positively influence the business and technical teams in the adoption of data quality and governance
  • You own self-development, stay current with the BI suite of tools, data validation techniques and tools, and demonstrate out-of-the-box thinking.
  • You are resourceful at navigating highly sophisticated, ambiguous problems with little to no existing structure and building roadmaps and frameworks to create scalable solutions.
  • You have the self-motivation and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and unstructured environment with evolving processes and procedures.
  • You are a self-starter, passionate about making a difference

Minimum qualifications:

  • 7 years of shown experience in data extraction, integration and/or reporting, building data pipelines, custom ETL processes and/or data visualization
  • Understanding of enterprise data quality management & data governance technologies
  • Strong SQL, PL/SQL skills
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience automating processes using scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience with modern source control (Git / Github) practices
  • Demonstrated curiosity and interest in keeping up and experimenting with new technologies

We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $140,000-$170,000, as well as company stock options.
