We're hiring Sales Engineers who will be responsible for delivering the technical win and product fit while also enabling our prospects to understand the benefits of our developer tools. It is critical for this role to build customer trust in our platform which will aid the sales and customer success organizations and engage in ground-breaking research by using our developer tools in their machine learning pipelines. Weights & Biases is a series B company with $60 million in funding and a rapidly growing user base. Our platform is an essential piece of the daily work for machine learning engineers, from academic research institutions like FAIR and UC Berkeley to massive enterprise teams including iRobot, Samsung, NVIDIA, Salesforce, GitHub, Blue Cross, Lyft, and more
Sales Engineers are the trusted advisors to Weights and Biases' prospects and clients, showing how the W&B platform addresses client business requirements. Sales Engineers are responsible for driving and managing the technology evaluation and validation stages of the sales process. Sales Engineers are the product advocates for Weights and Biases Enterprise Edition. They focus on the technical solution while also understanding the business outcomes the customer is trying to achieve.

What you'll do in this role:

    • Partner with Account Executives during the sales cycle to demonstrate the technical capacities of the platform and the concrete benefits it brings to customers
    • Lead technical demonstrations onsite or via video conference
    • Work with the sales team to identify and qualify business opportunities and identify key customer technical objections. Develop strategies to resolve technical impediments
    • Gather technical requirements from prospective clients and map Weights and Biases tools to the prospective clients’ unique requirements/pain points
    • Aid customers in instrumenting the W&B platform for POC/PO
    • Own the Proof of Concept to technical win
    • Assist in the creation of blogs and technical content
    • Engage with the community on forums/groups
    • Guide technical evaluations via POC/POV ownership, RFP/audit support, and workshop design.
    • Collaborate with the product team while representing customer requirements and feedback

We're looking for:

    • Technical presentation and communication skills
    • Quick learner, self-starter and comfortable working with ambiguity
    • Deep and demonstrable knowledge of Python and ML frameworks such as Keras, PyTorch, Tensorflow
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science is helpful but not required
    • Ability to understand the workflow and tools used by data scientists and ML engineers
    • Excellent communicator and presenter; able to win the confidence of a technical audience and simplify messaging
    • Proficiency with one or more of the following packages: HuggingFace, Fastai, scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, Ray
    • Experience with hyperparameter optimization solutions
    • Experience with data engineering, MLOps and tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
    • Experience with data pipeline tools
    • Experience as an ML educator and/or building and executing customer training sessions, product demos and/or workshops at a SaaS company
    • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
    • Experience with Linux/Unix

Hiring Process
Candidates can expect the hiring process to follow the order below. Please keep in mind that candidates can be declined from the position at any stage of the process.
Select candidates will be invited to schedule a screening call with our recruiting team.
Next, candidates will be invited to schedule a call with the VP of Customer Success.
Candidates will be invited to meet with the sales team and could include sales leads
Finally, candidates will be asked to deliver a demo/presentation to the interview team.
