Under the direction of the Director of Business Insights & Analytics and WelbeHealth’s visualization business users, the Principal Data & Analytics Lead is a key role within WelbeHealth’s Analytics & Information Management (AIM) organization, leading the charge to use hands-on visualization and report development skills to creates clear concise, professional-grade reports that are aesthetically pleasing and deliver an unmatched user experience.  The Principal Data & Analytics Lead collaborates effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to promote the WelbeHealth values, team culture and mission.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with business stakeholders in identifying their data visualization and delivery needs, designing report mockups, iterating and co-creating a final visual solution.
  • Implement ideas on what Power BI features will work best to easily maneuver through reports, and quickly find relevant, impactful information.
  • Independently come up with visual information delivery design reports that will make the lives of our clinical staff, operational staff stakeholders and leaders easier when it comes to how data is presented, delivered, and consumed.
  • Building relationships and trust with business partners.
  • Not just create reports based on business requests but find ways to consolidate data into limited number of clean, meaningful, impactful reports while maintaining simplicity, excellent user experience and visual appeal.
  • Partner closely with the Business Information Management function in helping design business-facing semantic layers (data marts) and foundational information structures that’ll feed into Power BI, with the goal of simplification of data acquisition into Power BI.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for all things Power BI –educate other team members and business users on available features, functionality, and tools within Power BI and how to optimize their use.
  • Partner with the Business Information Management team in the design and development of a single source of truth repository for the company’s clinical and operational data, with the goal of easing the extraction of data into Power BI or Tableau.
  • Communicate effectively to business users, stakeholders and leaders on how business and clinical logic is applied to information points to arrive at key KPIs and metrics, why we’re measuring what we’re measuring, and how operational activities interlink to KPIs, OKRs etc.
  • Help with the build-out and maintenance of an enterprise KPI catalog and dictionary.
  • Actively participate in KPI/metrics governance.
  • Work with influence, without ego and exhibit a collaborative spirit, with an unyielding motivation to do what’s best for the organization.
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Protect privacy and maintain confidentiality of all company procedures and information about team members, participants, and families.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Analytical Discipline or relevant field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of (7) years’ experience in business analytics, with a focus on converting business information into visualizations, reports, and business-facing information delivery solutions.
  • Experience with Tableau/Power BI is a strong plus.
  • Minimum (6) years’ experience with business information architecture, business metric governance, metric cataloging, and data dictionaries.
  • Minimum of (2) years’ experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Minimum (7) years’ experience with SQL, SAS, data visualization tools or other analytical and business intelligence tools.
  • Hands-on experience with analysis design problems and varied healthcare datasets and domains (e.g., enrollment, benefits, claims, clinical, risk, healthcare financials etc.)
  • Ability to mentor team members.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience and competency working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
