The Summer 2023 Research Analyst Intern at Lightcast works with the Applied Research team to produce innovative research, consulting reports, datasets, data models, and visualizations that answer our clients’ most pressing problems about the future of work. A successful candidate will bring a passion for finding creative ways to apply data to solve client problems by developing and bringing to market actionable insights.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Support client projects by performing quantitative analysis using Lightcast’s world-class workforce data and other data sources to research, model, and recommend workforce solutions for global employers.
• Generate custom datasets, reports, and visualizations that solve clients’ most pressing workforce challenges.
• Communicate key insights and recommendations to clients and consult clients on how to use data to make data-driven decisions.
• Develop innovative analytical models and document the methodology and findings in a manner accessible to a variety of audiences.
• Contribute to positive team culture by participating in team-building activities and being a supportive and empathetic colleague.

Essential Functions, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in economics, public administration, business, data science, community planning, public policy, or related field
• Strong analytical and technical skills and demonstrated ability to apply economic theory or statistical techniques
• Ability to write about and explain complex concepts in simple, concrete terms
• Ability to meet milestones while juggling multiple responsibilities
• Ability to work independently, while learning from members of the team
• Keen business development sense and strong client relationship skills
• Strong proficiency with MS office (particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and SQL, Python, or related applications is required. Experience with Tableau is ideal.
