This job will partner with key business, analytics, and technology stakeholders to identify business challenges, formulate a data plan, drive the insights, and develop solutions to enable the business teams to perform at the highest levels. This individual is responsible for driving understanding and decision making from data, working with key executives down to analysts. This role is part of the Data and Analytics Centers of Expertise (COE) which consists of experts and advisors with a specific focus on generating business insight, governing data assets, and promoting the use of data and analytics to achieve business outcome and measurable ROI across the enterprise.

How you will make an impact:

    • Performs analysis and conducts stakeholder discussions to gain a deep understanding of the business challenges and help define analytics use cases.
    • Works autonomously to perform analysis and leads stakeholder interviews to elicit user requirements and convert them into technical specs to formulate analytics solutions.
    • Leverages domain expertise and thought leadership to facilitate cross-functional stakeholder sessions to gain alignment and drives decision making towards desired business outcomes.
    • Works independently with Data Architects, Data Engineers and Reporting Analysts to help design and validate technical design and implementation approach.
    • Supports data analytics architecture that achieves data automation, reconciliation, traceability, and transparency to provide actionable, timely and accurate data to drive business insights.
    • Conducts data wrangling, designing business models and storytelling through visualization to help find meaningful insights and communicate data results with an emphasis on answering the business questions.
    • Leads end-to-end analytics solutions delivery across all phases (discovery to delivery) and drives change management and stakeholder communication.
    • Partners with Project / Program Lead in delivering projects and assists in project management responsibility like - project plans, task planning and risk mitigation. Communicates plans, progress, goals, flags dependencies, and risks or other challenges to the team and stakeholders.
    • Organizes sprint planning and prioritizes development activities with scrum team. Creates and maintains feature backlogs, user stories, use cases, data/process flows, etc.
    • Builds deep stakeholder relationship by serving as a trusted advisor and keeping an enterprise-first focus.
    • Creates reports and analyzes data to identify solutions that meet business goals.
    • Analyzes current processes and identifies existing or potential problems in order to discover new process improvement opportunities.

What we look for:

    • 6+ years of experience w/ Bachelor’s degree and around working with data management and analytics.
    • Prior experience in a role requiring collaboration across multiple functions within a large, complex organization.
    • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, quantitative reasoning, and problem-solving skills with high attention to details and accuracy.
    • Ability to distill complex concepts into easy-to-understand frameworks and presentations.
    • Strong business acumen, ability to think strategically and build effective business partnerships.
    • Strong functional understanding of data and analytics architecture, platforms, and frameworks; including data modeling, data ingestion, data pipelines (ETL).
    • Expertise with business intelligence/analytics reporting and visualization tools such as BusinessObjects, Tableau, Power BI etc.
    • Strong SQL and data management skills to perform data analysis including data profiling and data quality checks.
    • Strong experience in facilitating the discovery process with functional stakeholders to identify requirements and expected outcomes.
    • Strong presentation skills. Should be comfortable with presenting to all levels of management.
    • Uses storytelling techniques to effectively communicate analytical results and support business decisions.
    • Solid planning, priority setting, and project management skills with experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
    • Ability to lead project teams in driving end to end activities to meet set milestones and provide necessary mentorship/ guidance for the team growth.
    • A self-starter that adapts well to change in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace and works well in cross-functional teams/projects.
    • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to non-technical audiences.

Due to COVID-19, there is an even greater demand for flexibility and change. As Delta Dental navigates our Return-to-Office strategy, the expectation around work location for certain roles may be offsite until a future date, determined by Delta Dental Management. Should the position you seek be determined by Delta Dental Management to begin your duties offsite, the position would require you to have access to internet in order to meet the expectations outlined in the job duties.
