This position is responsible for serving as a strategic partner of the Market Research team supporting our enterprise's advancement and growth. The position will also collaborate across the enterprise with team members and stakeholders to gain market insights that drive business decisions and outcomes including customer targeting, market needs, product positioning, and market opportunity analysis.

How you will make an impact:

    • Collaborates across business functions such as segment strategy, product development, marketing and data analytics teams to recommend and execute in-depth market analyses to help drive business decisions and outcomes related to market opportunity identification, customer acquisition and retention, sales channels, new product development, competition & industry trends, etc.
    • Owns the end-to-end market research process for critical projects by gathering requirements, recommending the appropriate methodology, executing research, analyzing responses, determining business implications and sharing findings.
    • Builds and applies market and industry expertise to inform research, findings, and recommendations.
    • Partners with data and technology teams to determine primary and secondary data sources to enhance analysis, takeaways, and targeting to build dashboards.
    • Combines deep methodology expertise with practical experience to quickly assess and develop research recommendations to solve current business questions/challenges.
    • Leads cross-functional teams and external research agencies; ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables.
    • Fosters a culture of fact-driven decision making.
    • Acts as a mentor within the team and while collaborating cross- functionally across the Delta Dental Enterprise.
    • Creates reports and analyzes data to identify solutions that meet business goals.
    • Analyzes current processes and identifies existing or potential problems in order to discover new process improvement opportunities.

What we look for:

    • 4+ years of recent relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
    • MBA or experience in marketing, finance, risk or other analytical functions is preferred.
    • Heath or dental insurance experience is a plus.
    • Experience in market research fundamentals including survey design, recruiting, sampling, significance testing, descriptive statistics, crosstabs, etc.
    • A continuous improvement mindset that enables the person in this role to enhance their work product with each iteration.
    • Ability to conduct primary research studies and turn data into actionable insights for the team.
    • Ability to gather and synthesize data from multiple sources (e.g., internal, market, competitors) to generate insights.
    • Strong organizational, project management and communication skills.
    • Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills.
    • Experience conducting customer and market analyses.
    • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Intermediate to advanced experience in data analysis and collection tools such as Tableau, Excel, SPSS, Qualtrics, and/or similar.
    • Excellent visual (i.e. PowerPoint) and verbal communication skills with experience presenting research findings to senior leaders.
